Just like a matinee movie, the day-to-day riding of motorbike number 35 in the Sertões International Rally could be called Nielsem Buenos Antics. This is how the riders, Dario Souza and Felipe Zanol tease their companion in the Brazil Moto Tour team.
The one who teases his friend most is Dário: if I were to tell all Nielsens antics, it would take all Day. On Monday (27) alone, when the Webventure reporting team spoke to the racers for this articles, there were already three stories.
“At six oclock a.m. we were at the start and he fell on the asphalt, afterwards he got lost in Petrolina and disappeared in the city. In the liaison he was stopped by the Federal Highway Police and was almost arrested, Dário told us.
According to Zanol, for every unexpected happening, Nielsem has na answer on the tip of his tongue. So, the report team went to check the version of the rider, who defended himself: I fell on the start, but it was because of something stupid. I tried to cram the bike and it fell sideways. When I got lost in the city, that was just one of those small things that happen, he retorted.
With the Police, we were really stopped on the highway, but I think they had not been advised that the race would be passing by there, Nielsem explained. The rider further added a detail his companions had omitted: a Police car CUT in front of me and told me to pull over. A policeman got out and another went behind Zanol and Dario. They asked for the documents, my driving license and complained about the lack of a rear view mirror, but we talked to them and they ended up letting us all go.
Joking aside, Nielsem, who has just made his debut in the Sertões International Rally, is very well liked by his colleagues. He is good company, an excellent person. We are always competing ahead in the endure races, Zanol said.
At the age of 36, Bueno has been competing in the MotoCross and in the Enduro for 15 years. In 2012, he entered the Dimas Mattos team and even it being his first rally, was victorious in the Open Production Category, besides coming in third in the overall.
“I think it was a gigantic learning experience, going through many needy communities, getting to know lots of different people, the ne champion commented. I am in a super cool team, I was well received by Zanol, Dario and Dimas, who have lots of experience and were very patient with me these days, they taught me a lot, he said.
As Zanol said, it is Nielsems first participation in the rally. He did really well, lets hope that he comes back with more antics, so that we can laugh a lot.
