The snow white dunes of the Cumbuco Beach in Fortaleza (CE), surrounded by green coconut trees, is the scenery for the finish line of the Rally dos Sertões. The beach is a fascinating destination for those who seek contact with nature, rest, leisure and at the same time, adventure sports. Its green seas bathe the fishermen village and a seafront of about 5 kilometers.

Fortaleza, the capital of Ceará, is located on the Atlantic coast and has 34 kilometers of beaches. Here the climate is hot, with an average annual temperature of 26,5°C. The predominant vegetation is of swamp and salt marsh plants, and the Ecological Park of Cocó is the city’s largest green area.

Amongst its 15 beaches, Iracema has the most active nightlife, with bars and some historical buildings. Other attractions are the theme park, Beach Park, that receives an average of 500 thousand visitors per year, the Centro Dragão do Mar de Arte e Cultura (the Sea Dragon’s Center of Art and Culture) with its handicraft fair, the Ponte dos Ingleses bridge and Praia do Futuro beach.

Curiosity: Fortaleza is the Brazilian capital closest to Europe, 5,608 kilometers from Lisbon, Portugal.
