The city of Caldas Novas in the State of Goiás has 76,616 inhabitants according to the 2012 IBGE Census.

The municipality is known to be one of the largest thermal water spas in the world, with hot water springs with temperatures of between 33 and 66° C. This is one of the attractions that brings most tourists to the region that receives over 500 thousand tourists during the high season.

Ecotourism is well developed mainly along the banks of the Corumbá dam and next to the Caldas mountain range. The city is also well structured with hotels, chalets, clubs, nightclubs and bars.
