João Franciosi won the 2011 Sertões International Rally Super Prime in Goiânia (GO), but was not very enthused with the fact that he will be the first car driver to start off on the initial stage. He downplayed the importance of the starting position between the winners on Tuesday.
Starting ahead doesnt make that much difference, said the 2006 champion, companion to the navigator, Rafael Capoani. Coming in among the first ten gives you a normal start off. Its logical that whoever starts first has some advantage. But the positions alternate in the day to day.
He states, however, that he entered the arena in Goiânia to come in first place: The good thing about the prologue is that you come to win, even though it is a very short dispute. This is motivating.
Edu Piano, Sólon Mendes and Davi Fonsecas companion, celebrated the victory among the light trucks. It is good [to start first], you have less problems in overtaking. But we already know that there are a few cars in the Expedition category that the trucks end up overtaking. José Demontier Moura, first to start among the quad riders, stated that there is one less problem faced: The importance of starting first is that you dont get dust from ahead. That is already a good thing.
The motorbike rider, Felipe Zanol will open the first stage, between Goiânia and Pirenópolis, this Wednesday. Its cool to start the rally with a victory, whether it is special or not, despite the fact there is a very small time difference between the riders start offs, commented the rider from Minas Gerais.
