The city of Porto Nacional

63 kilometers from Palmas (TO), the city of Porto Nacional began its development at the end of the 18th century due to the navigation on the Tocantins River which connected two mining centers: Pontal, which gave origin to Porto Nacional and Monte do Carmo.
Currently, the city has an agricultural vocation, that drives the local commerce and provides the largest flow of capital in the city.
The climate is predominantly tropical and the average temperature is 26ºC.
Tourist highlights
Historical Center: gifted with narrow roads and with almost all the buildings built in the 19th century.
Lake: propitious for water sports and sport fishing.
