Straight from Sobral (CE) - Sertões International Rally Champion in 2007, Mauricio Neves is at the backstage of this year's race, preparing cars and taking the post of chief of staff. The intense disputes in cars make the driver want even more to be on the track.

"This is the rally I always wanted to do. I will participate in a Sertões International Rally fighting against two or three until the end. Historically the Last winners of Sertões, with the exception of last year with Nasser and Sainz, who fought till the end, the other editions won by Brazilians, the guy opened a large difference and then managed", said Neves, who experienced this. "It happened to me in 2007. We had more than one hour advantage and managed the entire race. A boring race, it was not my style."

Until the eighth stage, Guilherme Spinelli / Youssef Haddad are in the first position, followed by Riamburgo Ximenes / Stanger Eller, 22min43 away and Klever Kolberg / Flavio France, third, 28min45 away.

For Mauricio Neves, Sertões International Rally this year is watching a dispute that had not been seen in long time. "They are starring this year’s an intense race, disputed every day, taking risks, flat tires, they could have been further harmed. But they could have recovered a lot. That is what is nice, this is rally! The three are not concerned about managing", he says.


Fight for the podium - Mauricio also points out that leaders are not saving, and fighting to increase the advantage to the opponents. "The very Guiga, which could be taking on this role of savings, is taking risks. I think he put in his head that could get a tire and that margin he has for that. And we are still accelerating. This is really cool."
