Problems in Pichini and Lourival fourth stage

The stage between Minaçu (GO) and Palmas (TO) had 373 kilometers, and the pair Paulo Pichini/ Lourival Roldan had problems, and this almost caused a little disagreement with their teammate João Franciosi.

“We fell in a ditch in the beginning of the section, and lost the hydraulic wheel, air conditioning, and some other small problems. The yank of the wheel and the effort to take the car out of the ditch hurt my left hand, too. When we managed to move on, I focused as much as I could in order to forget the pain. I even stopped to help Marcos (Baumgart), that had an accident, and then moved on”, remembered Pichini.

Due to the problems, many cars passed the competitor, and some tried to communicate via radio. “I couldn’t hear them call in the radio. Lourival and I didn’t notice that the radio volume was low, and that we were holding back a whole lot of other competitors. As soon as I noticed the situation, I let everyone pass”.

Not having a response in the radio, Franciosi complained about the lack of competitiveness in his teammate. “Unfortunately, many people thought that we made it on purpose, and that made me very sad. Those who know me are aware that I would be incapable of doing something like that”, explained the pilot.

Also due to the problems, the pair finished the race with two flat tires, and managed to cross the finish line eight minutes before forfeiting, in the 28th place.
